Basant Panchami is one of the most popular spring festivals of India, celebrated across different parts of country with fun and fervour. The festival, celebrated on the fifth day of the month of Magh (between the months of January and February), marks the end of winter season and welcomes the arrival of spring season. This year, the festival of Basant Panchami will be celebrated on 16th February. The festival of Basant Panchami is associated with yellow colour, a colour of spirituality. The colour holds a special meaning for this celebration, as it signifies bright yellow sunshine, brilliance of nature and the vibrancy of life. During this season, the fields in the countryside, especially the rural areas of Punjab, are brightened with yellow colour of mustard crop, which adds to the spirit of the festival.  Class 1- Speech marks was explained with the help of a video and the sentences were given for practice. Class 2- Noun phrase Worksheet was done in the class.

 Class 1-  Suffix(- ed)- Work book- pg.45 was done. Class 2- Students book- pg.73 - Poem- Stone Cutter was read . Work book- pg.41 was done.

 Class 1- Word Meanings- Work book - Pg.45 and 46 were done.  Class 2- Global perspective- Project 3 - Can we use less? Was completed. 

 Class 1- Simple inferences- page 68 of Students book was done. Class 2- Contractions were practiced + pg. 70- Grammar was done.

 Class 1- Use of past and present tense - Students book- pg 67 was done and the topic was explained and discussed.  Global perspective- Project 4- Sports and leisure was introduced to the students.  Class 2- Noun phrases were discussed with the students and pg.69 was done.

 Class 1- Dictation of sentences containing words with suffix (-ly) was taken. Activity- Demonstration of words like- Hop, skip, prance, bounce etc. Class 2- Play script - Going....going...   was read in the class. Contraction words were introduced,read and written by the students.  They also made sentences using these words.
