"Sulabh International Toilet Museum"- A Report
July 24, 2015
Child welfare ought really to cover all sorts of topics such as better water and sanitation and good roads, and clean streets and public parks and playgrounds.”Keeping the above mentioned quote in mind, children of CBSE i, classes I - VI visited Sulabh International Museum of Toilets on 24th July. Although the museum was the weirdest that children ever visited, it was a good place to learn something which is very basic but very useful.
The museum showcased the services rendered by Sulabh NGO in environment sanitation, non- conventional sources of energy, waste management and social reforms through education of the scavengers community in India. It also had very interesting and unique collection of toilets from all over the world.
Children learnt the importance of hygiene and sanitation and various low cost toilets being constructed by Sulabh in all over rural India and some African nations. To quote an employee of the museum,” After all having a clean and proper toilet in a house is as important as having a well planned kitchen.”
It was learning and fun all through.
